Exercise Roundup, Week of 8 August 2011

I hit 5.5 days of exercise this week--woot!! Lots of biking and Evil Hill 2 only moderately kicks my trash now instead of all-out kicking my trash. I didn't do an exercise roundup the first week of August and now I can't remember how I worked out each day, only that there were some bike rides, a Pilates mat class, and I did the new Jillian Michael's video, Six-week Six Pack, twice and it was "no joke" (Jillian's words). An hour of aerobics, Pilates-style ab exercises, and plenty of painful moves originating in the plank position. I hate the plank!

Here's the summary for this past week:

Monday: Ninety-minute bike ride.

Tuesday: Sixty-minute bike ride.

Wednesday: Ninety-minute bike ride. Ish.

Thursday: Fifty-minute long Pilates reformer class, plus I walked the mile each way to and from the class.

Friday: Tread water at the pool for about 20 minutes while chatting with my friend Patti. Since it was only 20 minutes, I count this as the .5 day.

Saturday: Fabulous bike ride! I rode about 38 miles in three hours, including a 20-minute stop at the turn-around point. Perhaps not my fastest time but I felt strong and actually passed multiple other cyclists--men!--particularly on the way home, which made me feel good and, yes, a little smug.

Sunday: Day of rest.
